From every ending, comes a new beginning

Dear fellow blog followers,
It is with great sadness that I tell you my blogging days are over. This blog was fun but has kind of got me stressed. I only have a few days left in Spain and I really want to enjoy them, without the pressure. My mom agrees that I should just tell what we have planned for the next few days:
*go karting
*roof top bar
*feild trip with Maddi's class to Segovia
*Maddi runs a half marathon
*town of Toledo

Thank you for reading. I hope you've enjoyed my blog.
Hasta luego!
Mia <3

Last night

The night that was last night, was really fun. When we got there my mom's friend's brother was not there yet, so the waiter took us to our seats. When he did get there we ordered drinks. I ordered a 'Fanta' which I've been drinking for the past 2 weeks. We ordered a few appetizers, such as... Now that I think about it... I have no idea what appetizers we had. For a main course I had lamb, and everyone else had fish I think. It was delicious. Then we had dessert. I did not eat that much because I was full from the meat. We walked backed to our apartment. I read. I fell asleep, at 1:30 am.

What feels like a short day

This morning I awakened from my nest. Maddi went to school and I played on my iPad. I made breakfast for my mom (I wanted to surprise her with food, who wouldn't?!). When my mom woke up, well when I woke my mom up, she enjoyed her breakfast, and then we cleaned. I mean she cleaned. I watched Cake Boss. We went to a market and got stuff for our lunch. My mom cooked pasta and chicken. Maddi came back and then we ate. After lunch Maddi started her homework and my mom and I relaxed. Maddi's doing a presantation in Spanish about food. How much better can school get?! Now I'm writing my blog.
Later we will be going to dinner with my mom's friend's brother's dog's neighbor's aunt. JK, it's my mom's friends' brother. I have no idea were we are going, I will tell you about more food tomorrow. ;)

Otro día en Madrid (another day in Madrid)

This morning when we woke up let's just say there was a laundry mishap...when the cycle was over Maddi opened the machine and the water came spilling out. It was a nice way to start a morning. Then when we were wringing out our clothes and I was hanging them on the bar in the shower, the bar fell. We got it back up there knowing our idea could have had more thought to it. We called the super attendant of the building and he taught us how to use the machine. After the drama over wet floors, my sister left for school (her school is across the street from our apartment) and I made my mom and me breakfast. I took Italian bread and put garlic, oil, salt, tomato, and avocado on it.
"Umm, this is so good" said my mom <-- that's what I call a satisfied customer.
Then my mom and I walked around, looked at shops, and I told my mom all the reasons she should get me a bunny. We went back to the apartment, my mom took a short nap, and I research bunnies, I was not going to give up. Apparently my moms only problem is she thinks my dog might eat it. But my dog runs from squirrels. I'm getting off topic... After that, my mom took me over to Maddi's school and I watched her last 20 minutes of class, just to see what it was about. We all walked back and made lunch. I made a salad and my sister made tortilla de patatas, while my mom set up plans for the week.
It was really good, as good as something really good.
After lunch we went out and walked, looked at shops, and I got some souvenirs. We walked for a few hours and stopped at a market. This market had prepared food and was more like a food court, but with high quality food. Anyway I got some sushi and miso soup.'Twas yummy. We walked backed to are apartment. Now we are sipping tea and watching the fútbol game.
Nighty, night, night night.

Place to place

SUNDAY

Happy Easter! Easter in Spain is different than Easter in America. In Spain the bigger celebration is during Holy Week while on Easter Sunday there is no Easter Bunny or dyed eggs. It's more casual. But we got a chocolate egg which my mom hid for this morning because I wanted to have some part of my normal Easter routine.
Today when we got up, it was raining. I looked for my egg and finally found it (it took me a long time considering it was a small hotel room). We checked-out of the hotel and headed to our next destination. Then we drove and drove and drove (which wasn't so bad because of Maddi's playlist) and stopped at a gas station. I got a salami sandwhich on French bread because I was hungrier than something that was really hungry. It was really good, especially for a gas station (the gas stations here have small cafés with real food). Then we drove and drove and drove (in between this driving we probably stopped and wazzed) (this driving was about 4hours) until we arrived in Guadaloupe. Our hotel is very cute, it is a very old building that used to be important but we are not sure why. With the bars on the windows, it kind of reminded me of a prison. But much nicer, it had big wooden doors and a courtyard with lemon and orange trees.

Surrounding our hotel are beautiful mountains with olive trees and wild horses, neigh. Right outside our hotel there is a big church, inside the church is the 'Black Madonna' which is very famous. (I could not take pictures in the church so here is a link http://www.pinterest.com/cathymoney/black-madonna-vierge-noire/ ). People say that the 'Black Madonna' heals diseases and performs miracles for those who pray. After that, we went for tapas around 6:00. I got gambas ajillo which is shrimp and oil with garlic. We also had lots of bread and a big salad, tortillas de patatas, which is an egg and potato thing very popular in Spain. It was really good. Then it started raining so we ran back to our hotel. We went to the lounge and got tea and cookies. We went up to our room and just relaxed. After a little bit we were hungry because we had eaten so early, so we went down to the lounge again and got chicken croquettes.
We shall sleep in peace now.

MONDAY

Today we went to breakfast in our hotel, I don't really know what I was eating, but something was good. There was some meat, some cheese, and some bread. Then we checked-out of the hotel and hit the road one last time. Two hours back to Madrid! After traffic and more driving and dancing in the car, we arrived at the car rental place and returned the car. Oh I forgot to mention: sadly our car was white not bright blue :(.  Anyways we took a cab to an apartment building that we will be staying in for the rest of are trip. It's across the street from Maddi's school (thank goodness I can't stand being apart from her beautiful face for too long, sighhhhh) <---- Madison wrote that.

Since our apartment has a small kitchen, we cooked dinner tonight. We had very good garlic chicken that Maddi made (because she is a goddess in the kitchen) and cheese and bread (Maddi didn't make those). It was delicious! I was getting sick of eating out anyways.
Until tomorrow!

Men in women's clothes

Today is Sunday but this post is from yesterday... The wifi is not the best in Spain

This morning we went to an all you can eat buffet. I had bacon and pancakes... Pretty Spanish... My mom had the more traditional Spanish breakfast of toast with olive oil and tomato. She also drank a whole pot of espresso which Maddi wasn't too happy about because she didn't get any. After breakfast we were sitting in the lobby and a guy who works in the hotel asked us to guess the weight of a watermelon, he was interestingly dressed...
After seeing this man dressed like a woman we went to playa de Bolonia (Bolonia Beach). Bolonia beach is on the southern coast of Spain and hard to get to so there are not many tourists. It was beautiful. There were big sand dunes which we climbed, well Maddi climbed. I rode on her back.
At the top we did yoga poses and rolled down the dunes. It was so fun but I ended up with sand in places that sand shouldn't be... Like my ears and my nose.

Also there were Roman ruins on the beach that were more than 2000 years old. They were partly fallen apart but still really cool to look at. After exploring those we went to a yummy dinner. I had mini meatballs and we all split a steak and my mom and Maddi split tuna because it is a local speciality, I hate tuna so I did not participate.

Right now we are spipping drinks listening to live oldies music.

Hasta luego caja huevos
(See you box of eggs) <--( that's what they say here in place of see ya later alligator)

Walking with no destination

Today we woke up and went to all-you-can-eat breakfast, and took a walk on the beach. After that since it was a little cold we went to the indoor pool. Then we got dressed and went into Conil (our hotel is right outside of Conil). When we got there me and Maddi went on bumper cars. We walked around a little then went to a restaurant, got shrimp and a drink then walked some more and got ice cream.
